DSP Connect

Why DSP Connect?

DSP Connect was created to give Members and their families the opportunity to identify who they feel may be a good match for their support. Instead of a traditional matching process, DSP Connect focuses on building real connections first - because the best support starts with trust, understanding, and shared experiences.

We believe that support should reflect your life, your preferences, and your goals. DSP Connect creates space for you to meet, connect, and get to know potential DSPs so you can decide what feels right for you. There is no pressure - just the opportunity to explore and choose support that truly fits.

At its core, DSP Connect is about community; bringing people together in a way that feels welcoming, empowering, and centered around your voice and choice.

How Do Connections Begin?

Connections begin with you. We start by working alongside Members and their natural supports to identify a DSP who shares similar interests, communication styles, and values. This helps create a connection that feels natural, comfortable, and supportive for everyone involved.

After an initial meet and greet, we check in with both, the Member and the DSP, to make sure the connection feels like a good fit. If something does not feel quite right, we take the time to explore other options and continue the process until a connection feels cohesive and mutually comfortable.

We understand that people grow and needs can change over time. DSP Connect is not a one-time match, but an ongoing and flexible process. We are here to support you as your needs evolve and will make adjustments whenever needed to ensure your support continues to feel right for you.

What Makes a Good Connection?

A good connection is about more than just availability. It is about finding someone who feels like the right fit in your life. This can look different for everyone.

For some, it may be shared interests, similar communication styles, or personality. For others, it is about feeling comfortable, respected, and supported in a way that feels natural. The most important part is that you feel heard, understood, and able to be yourself.

A strong connection should feel easy, not forced. It should support your goals, your routines, and your independence. When both people feel comfortable and respected, it creates a foundation for trust and meaningful support.
